| Sadie went to see Ross Noble at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall |
![]() Ross Noble is one of the UK’s most popular comedians of the past few years. He’s done a number of successful tours and released a dvd of his surreal performance. I first saw him live in 2002 at the Old Vic, where you could sit and have a pint with him afterwards. Or in my case, drunkenly propose to him (I was brutally rebuffed).
The main thing that continuously astounds me about Mr. Noble is that no matter how far he veers from the original point he was making, he always gets back to it after digressing into many other hilarious and strange subjects. Ross Noble’s jokes aren’t easy one-liners, he creates stories and recounts tales of things that have happened to him. One minute Noble could be talking about finding the faces of famous people in muffins and the next he’ll be screaming about getting bummed in the face by a monkey. He continually becomes more popular with every tour he does and ‘Fizzy Logic’ does not disappoint. Some comedians will be too harsh to the audience when they heckle, Ross Noble just creates further amusing ideas from things that the audience have said. As the show was at the Royal Centre, there were obviously certain things that he couldn’t say compared to previous subject matter from smaller venues. I missed that rawness that you get watching comedy in a pub, being able to take things that little bit further and being in shouting distance from the bar. Ross Noble performed at the Royal Concert Hall on 18th September 2006. Ross Noble's website Comment (0) Socialise
