Spectrum are moving to Gatecrasher Nottingham

Spectrum have announced they are to leave their current Nottingham venue with a move to Gatecrasher Nottingham.

After almost four years at Stealth, preceded by a two year stint at legendary The Bomb, the 50th Spectrum event at the venue on Friday February 1st sees Plump DJs, DJ Format and Slyde (Live) join Spectrum’s Pete Jordan and Hexadecimal to mark the end of an ultra successful run at the club as well as starting the month long celebrations for the 7th Birthday.

Spectrum’s main Nottingham events will now take place at state of the art venue, Gatecrasher Nottingham on Queens Street in the city centre (pictured right). The Grade II listed building, originally a theatre, combines stunning architecture with top class sound and lighting. The first event will be on Friday March 7th will be with Stanton Warriors, Switch, Klaus Hill, Pete Jordan and Rebekah.

Pete Jordan said “We would like to thank Stealth for a great four years working together and we wish the venue well in the future. After four years it was time to move on, and the 1400 capacity Gatecrasher venue suits the needs of the Spectrum really well. We’ve been very impressed with events at the venue so far and we look forward to holding many Spectrum events there. Gatecrasher certainly know how to operate great venues!”

Further event news from Spectrum sees a huge one off event at the Norfolk Royal Showground on Saturday February 23rd with headliners Groove Armada and Pendulum, plus Scratch Perverts, Annie Mac, Stanton Warriors and Pete Jordan. Furthermore, a new monthly residency at Leamington Spa’s award winning club Smack, begins on Friday January 25th. Evil Nine, Scratch Perverts and Plump DJs are all lined up as headliners for the first three months.

Spectrum Seven Year Itch Tour, spans the whole of February and first week of March. 13 dates across the UK plus one date in Copenhagen to celebrate the club brands 7th Birthday. Stopping off in Nottingham, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Leamington Spa, Edinburgh, London, Brighton, Norwich and Leeds it will be the clubs most extensive UK tour to date.

Finally, Spectrum are pleased to announce a new resident to the ranks. Joining Pete Jordan, Hexadecimal and Kids in Tracksuits amongst others, the globe trotting DJ Rebekah will be appearing at more events in 2008. Sean West from Spectrum said “Having been an ever present at Birmingham events in 2007, it made sense to bring the uber-talented DJ/producer into the ranks. Her minimal/techy style suit perfectly where many of our multi room events are angled.”
