Camillo went along to check out The Dive Regenerate fashion show at Browns...

Kicking off on 10 February is Londons' Fashion week and nestled amongst the big boys will be two Notts designers showcasing their collections, Regenerate and Bantum (best known for his range of I love Notts mens and womenswear)

The Dive Regenerate Fashion show at Browns gave us a preview of both collections alongside threads from local independent streetwear connoisseurs, Plank and Projects.

The venue worked surprisingly well for this type of event, with the models using the bars cascading stairs to full effect.

Music came in the form of Notts hiphop duo The Elementz working the decks- both looking sharp in matching Bantum t-shirts, alongside Karizma providing the lyrical commentary as the models (all selected from the streets) strutted their stuff down the runway of Browns.

The evening was organised by Regenerate, a label launched in 2006 by May Cortazzi, whose ten years in the industry has included creating designs for Maharishi and Boxfresh, when both labels were at the top of their game.

Incorporating hand printed neon and metallic inks onto organic fibres, the label is one of the few to put an emphasis on eco-friendly design – something which may have been a factor in some of the pieces being worn by the likes of The Happy Mondays and the Fun Lovin' Criminals to mention a few.

The 2008 collection featured some impressive designs incorporating diary style doodles, geometric shapes and skulls combining to give a contemporary punk-rock feel. If you like your hoodys made using solar panelled wind turbines you can find Regenerate at Projects store in Nottingham (with other stockists in London and Derby).
