Up coming creatives; photographer Rob Parker (Pylon Photography), and artist Lisa Clark, are presenting Exposed, a dual exhibition of contemporary photography and art. The show draws out the relationship between pigment and print and a 3D impression on a 2D surface along with the poetical nature of visual reality as subject or objective. Head to the Flying Horse Mall, this weekend to catch the last few days of the show. Both creative mediums of expression use bold shapes and form, telling a narrative though the use of colour and light. Works are visually appealing with carefully considered compositions and subject matter. What is apparent in Clark’s paintings is the bold influence of popular modern city culture referencing the surrealist movement; be it hot-red lipstick lips cut out on a blue background, combining Mae West’s lips symbol with the surrealism of Rene Magritte in a dream-like scene, or Sex and the City-esque voyeuristic peeping. Exposed is at Unit 11, Flying Horse Mall, Market Square until Sunday 30 June Comment (0) Socialise

Parker’s fine art photography is inspired by his interest in capturing objects and places that have been left behind in time and social change, where the sites and items have survived while the rest of the world carries on without them. Often scenes are desolate, with no obvious human presence, like a footprint left behind in history.
