Psycle has been running for two years now. How has the night progressed over time?
When Psycle began we were using decor donated from friends. Since then, many artists have created stunning UV backdrops and 3D decor.

What’s your personal favourite out of the nights you’ve organised?
The first Psycle was the most exciting as we introduced a music genre that hadn't been played in Nottingham for a while. I also don't think I've ever felt such a feeling of relief when people started to fill up Blueprint!

What’s been the most successful?
Newstead Tree Fest! Last year we hosted the dance and the chillout tents for the first time.
Tell us more about the Newstead Tree Festival…
It's an anual community festival in the villiage of Newstead every July. Last year thousands of people came and enjoyed themselves in the summer sun.

What’s been the least successful?
At one party there was an electrical fault and we had to buy and borrow some generators to even get the lights working! It still took until the early hours until we got the party really going.

Tell us about this night in London "The Synergy Project". How did that come about?
One of our resident DJs from London, Dark Angel, has worked with the organisers for some time and now has an important position in the Synergy collective. The Synergy Project is a large event held in 3000+ capacity SEOne club near London Bridge. Dark Angel believed that both nights would benifit from Psycle hosting their main room, and has been the driving force behind the event.

What’s this new Monkey Nuts night? I understand it’s at a secret venue…
Secret location (laughs), its not best kept secret. We decided to branch out and try something a little bit different that wouln't be classified by any particular genre of music. The venue will be completely different from what you'd expect on this night.

Who are your favourite DJ’s and musicians in Nottingham?
I love all the town buskers, especially the one-armed guitarist, that's an amazing talent. I'm a big fan of Pete Jordan's work, although I havent seen him play in years though... RIP xyolphone man!

What are your favourite other nights in Nottingham?
Im a big fan of Gala bingo and I've gotten hooked on Laser Quest again... Techno is probably my favourate kind of music so im a Pure Filth regular.

What’s the plan with whatusayin.com?
We've created a special forum about parties in the Midlands. This can be used by people who want to find out about parties and by promoters who want to coordinate their efforts. It will have a feature which will allow any promoter to have a sub-forum of their own that they can edit. We hope that this will introduce people to quality parties they've never heard of. This website will lauch soon...

What do you do when you’re not organising or attending big raves?
I really enjoy keeping fit and especially like playing monkey tennis. I also have a large film collection to keep me company, moslty containing horror films... Oh, and I also attend (I use that word lightly) college.
