Hoodoo Second Birthday

We take a look at the Hoodoo second Birthday bash
taking place this Friday 12th June..

Originally hailing from Nottingham University, the Hoodoo crew came to life by putting on the now infamous Crave parties that took place during their student days around the lake on Campus, hosting crowds of upto 2,000 people. Due to english weather not exactly providing the ideal environment for outdoor parties, natural evolution took the promoters indoors, making a home for themselves at Stealth via collaborations with Detonate and Spectrum.

Hoodoo have recieved great acclaim from DJs and punters alike (both local and beyond), gaining a reputation for incorporating the right elements into their shows, bringing an ethos that has carried through from their early days of putting on free parties. One of the organisers Ben Myatt commented " Because Crave started in such a natural environment there has always been a sort of planet earth inspired appreciation of nature... you'll always find a bit of real nature at our indoor parties too"

Traditionally booking breaks, electro/electro-house and techno, the music policy has always concentrated on the dancefloor. This year the boys host their second birthday party at Stealth and Rescue Rooms with breaks scene veteran and pioneer, Adam Freeland (Marine Parade) taking the headlining slot. Flying in from LA to promote his new album 'Cope', Freeland has been playing in Nottingham since the 90's and has never failed to seriously impress as a globally renowned DJ. There will also be a rare UK appearance from Miles Dyson (Plasmapool), the reputed German electro-house DJ, and a live set from RuN RiOT. Support on the night will come from a selection of Hoodoo/Crave/Spectrum/Matter residents (Londons freshest addition to the club scene) whist you can expect full on lasers, live visuals and fire breathing adding to the vibes.

Hoodoo's second birthday bash takes place on June 12th at Stealth and Rescue Rooms, 10-5am, Masonic place, Nottingham. Tickets £8/£10 on the door.
