The Bayoos are an indie-rock band through and through, and have the vigour and attitude of a band like The Cribs.
They’re they type of band who just like to get on with it, knocking out simple yet catchy riffs. Song titles like I Don’t Like The Clothes You Wear might make them seem like another shallow indie band, but actually with a few laughs here and there they’re just a modest bunch of lads playing the type of music they love.

Experimental and exuberant break-beaters Yunioshi warmed up for their Summer Sundae slot at The Maze to an intimate crowd. The fun and freshness was still present in their set, with them even giving out marshmallows to the lucky crowd.
They have a unique funk meets pop sound and create vibrant electro ear-stabbing beats. Thunderbeat and Mymo are live favourites that will get you bopping around instantly, but you may have a job keeping up with the rap-style lyrics!
Lady Yunioshi Suzuki takes lead of the D.I.Y. snippets and sounds with her Korg synth and sampler, all of which work well with her sweet voice.

Hadouken, The Automatic, Klaxons…whatever band you liken Battlecat! to, you can’t argue that they’re an eccentric 2-piece who probably really don’t care what you think. On this occasion they admitted that they had drank one too many pints of ale, which may have affected the competency of their headlining set, but entertained everyone nonetheless.
The Mansfield lads are here to create fun electro music and don’t take people just standing still too kindly. “We haven’t got time for this” they shout, which soon gets everyone at to move a little bit.
They charge into each other and the crowd like the 'battlecats' they call themselves and prove that they’re a band who aren’t just here to mess around.
The Bayoos, Yunioshi, and Battlecat! played at The Maze on Tuesday 11 August 2009.
