A new film festival for Nottingham that hopes to give filmmakers and musicians a serious leg up...

This Saturday sees NEMFFEST (New Element Music & Film Festival) take over the Royal Albert Hall - an event which is set to promote, educate and discover hidden talents in new music and film by offering a launch pad from which to propel themselves into the awareness of the public and the professionals.

Over twenty new films will be screened throughout the night from around the world and closer to home, showcasing new and established film and musical talents. Award catergories include: Best Short Film, Best Nottingham Student Film, Best Feature Film (Fiction), Best Foreign Film, Best Documentary Short, Best Documentary Feature, Best Music Video, NEMFFEST Youth Award for 16 and under, Best Mobile Phone Film and the NEMFFEST Special Award.

The event will be hosted by Jack McMullen and Aryana Ramkhalawon (Finn Sharkey & Trudi Siddiqui inWaterloo Road), and other noteable special guests include the Usain Bolt, cast members from Eastenders, Holby City, Slumdog Millionaire and Nollywood stars to help keep the evening sparkling and to hand out awards.

With the setting being so glamorous it’s recommended that you get your glad rags on and dress to impress.

NEMFFEST is at Nottingham Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 29 September at 7pm. Tickets £10 standard/£25 VIP.
