Is it a bird, is it a plane...? No, you're being a bit seventies in your attitude, these days we refer to them as women. Yes, a group of forty dare devil pole dancers will be leaping from an aircraft 14,000 feet above the Nottinghamshire countryside in a bid to raise awareness and much needed funds for the charity Help for Heroes.
This event will see a record amount of women participating in their first ever skydive together; joining them is Leftlion's Ali Emm who will be swapping risking breaking her neck from 12 feet off the ground for risking breaking her neck from 14,000 feet off the ground.
The event has been organised by two leading pole fitness schools based in the Midlands - Pro Pole Dance and Venus Pole Dancing. Together, Emma and Cheryl have organised numerous successful charity fundraisers such as pole lessons, performances and competitions and they're about to add a few more strings to their altruistic bows.
Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. Prince William recently commended the work Help For Heroes currently do and officially opened their new Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court.
The event will take place on Saturday 19 June and Saturday 26 June 2010 at Langar Airfield, Nottingham. To get involved and help out by making a donation just click here. To truely get involved, join the girls in an after party to end all after parties, details can be found on facebook.
