Celebrate New Years Eve with the Sound of the Lion New Year's Eve 80's Films Fancy Dress Party at The Golden Fleece.
LeftLion have invited three of our favourite local acts, who each turned us on in 2010 with their own idiosyncratic style, to make sure that we see in the New Year in proper Notts style - Rebel Soul Collective, The Eviltones and Ronika.
Rebel Soul Collective weld the strut and swagger of 'Screamadelica' era Primal Scream to the explosive indie-dance of Kasabian. As we once declared, RSC will make you want to get up and dance the rest of the night away.
The Eviltones are an all together different proposition, but no less thrilling. They reach back to the 1950s, taking bits of rock n roll, surf and rockabilly, and blasting them through a fiery furnace of tight trousers and even tighter licks.
Then finally, Ronika, who was so good at our recent Hockley Hustle gig that we just had to have her back, will be bringing her pounding 80's flavoured disco to the party.
If all of that isn't enough, there will also be...
- Double Decca DJ's spinning a whole host of party tunes from Soul, Ska, Funk and Reggae.
- Nottingham's very own Mr Sex will be hosting a very special festive addition of the LeftLion Pub Quiz.
- Fancy Dress - the theme is 1980s films and there will be prizes for the best costumes.
It all kicks off from 8pm till late and tickets cost a wallet friendly £6 - It's bound to be a big one so get your tickets fast and direct from the LeftLion website or from The Golden Fleece pub on Mansfield Road.
(Please note: LeftLion will not post out physical tickets, you need to bring along you PayPal receipt to the Golden Fleece on the night of the gig and we'll match it up on the door with our paid list. Tickets are non-refundable.)
