UK Takeover

Weekend of wicked hiphop cancelled...

Rodney P - 1Extra MC - Probably went home for a smoke instead..

The UK Takeover hiphop event was cancelled last night.

Promoter and DJ Joe Buddha spoke to LeftLion:
"The event was cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. The club and the police made the decision. We are obviously very disappointed. A lot of people put a lot of hard work into making this event the biggest showcase of UK talent ever to appear outside of London.

We are meeting with police on Monday and planning to reschedule this event in
Nottingham bigger and better than before. We are looking to fully co-operate with them to make sure it can happen.

People with tickets can either keep the ticket for the next event or take it back to where they bought it for a full refund."

Feast yourself on hiphop this weekend with some of the UK's best coming to Hood Town.

The promoters are claiming this event is the best collection of UK hip-hop talent to ever be assembled on one stage outside of London. They're probably right...

Rodney P and Skitz are the current UK hiphop poster boys thanks to the success of their show on 1Extra. They definitely got some skills they need to show Chris Moyles..

Taskforce's Chester P Hackenbush & Farma Giles are two of the most respected in UK hiphop at present. They last played here at the almighty Detonate late last year and were suitably wicked.

Jehst is one of those rappers that's been bubbling on the surface of the scene for some time. His Falling Down album recently landed and he continues writing good tunes.

Ricochet Klashnekoff  has recently been working with the massive Sheffield collective that is Hoodz underground. From their tune Where Ya From it appears that they feel about Sheffield like LeftLion feel about Nottingham. Respect to the steel city... just don't be trying to take Robin Hood away, okay!!

Apart from that Notts is fully respresenting on the bill. Joe Buddha is a bit of a local legend and is DJing as well as pulling the strings for the whole night. His freestyle frenzy tracks are well worth checking out and his protégé Mista Jam seems to be following suit.

Outdaville - As they were Lee Ramsay is doing a solo show on the side of his Marga Boys project. This guys a firework and will show you why he's been hosting Denonate hiphop rooms at big events recently.

The Notts ladies are also out in force. Tempa and CMone are representing,  There's Big Trev (Trevor Rose)the founder of OutDaville and  his new and very young Inna Nuttin' crew. The next generation...

Basically this show features some of the best hiphop talent in this city alongside the cream of the fresh UK scene. Go see...
