I remember the first time i went to Loggerheads, i was walking down, around 9.30pm, no one about.. I asked the security guard in BroadMarsh how to get to Cliff Road, where Loggerheads is located.

'Oooh no Lovey! You dont want to go to Cliff Road!'
'erm, i do.. i've got a night on there.. its not that bad is it?'
'Oh Lovey, i wish you wouldnt, but if you must'

She directed me to leave Broadmarsh through the doors near Argos, take a Left, then the 2nd Left to get on Cliff Road, this brings you to a housing estate which you follow round until you find Loggerheads.

OKAY, now we've found the place, and you've shufted in through the back gate, you come to face with the fairly big and wonderfully enclosed beer garden with lots of tables, chairs and.. merry people. Putting the into use is a stroke of genius for acoustic music and some of the better shows i've seen at the Loggers have been down in the dank dark caverns of Nottingham! (okay, they're not that deep, but it sounds cool.)  Inside you're welcomed originally to two bars, one generally occupied by the local regulars and perhaps older folk, and one populated by the punters there for whichever of the varied nights the Loggers have to offer. The beers are kept well, the service is slow, but you dont mind because everyone behind the bar is lovely and its usually pretty vibrant. Then in the back theres a somewhat seedy room for the more raucous tunes if you fancy getting your dance on.

All in all its a good night out because you can get about 5 completely different experiences and environments without actually having to leave the premises!

Top marks for one of Nottinghams better kept secrets (i know thats a cliche saying, but with it being so bloody far out the way, its easy enough to believe for this one!)

I agree, they've turned the place into a really good music venue and good beers as well. it's well worth searching out and only a short walk from the Newshouse on canal St.

I went once because I heard their outdoors was ace. I had to endure an hour of a beardy man bellowing about World of Warcraft. Determined after getting lost about 5 times trying to find it, I didn't give in. It didn't make me want to go back, though.
