Big changes are coming to the Nottingham clubbing scene as Stealth looms around the corner...

April 2004 will see the opening of a new Nottingham nightclub...

With respected clubbing svengali James Baillie (formerly of The Social and The Bomb) at the helm, Stealth aims to venture where others dare not...

The 650 capacity nightclub will be situated next door to the Rescue Rooms in Masonic place on Goldsmith street.

Seasoned Notts clubbers may remember the venue in its former incarnation as Envy.

The new team, led by Baillie and Will Harold, are currently overseeing a thorough and expensive refit. They promise the new design will be modern and angular, a place architecturally equipped to take the Nottingham clubbing experience forward.

"It'll be like Kubrick meets Tron." said Baillie. "From the moment Stealth opens it will change the Nottingham clubbing experience forever."

In terms of audio performance, Stealth will house the Funktion 1 Dance Stack. This equipment has been specifically sought out for it's quality. There are just four other systems of it's type in existence, this being the only one in the UK.

The club is part of the Rock City chain and it's inner doors will interlink with the Resue Rooms. This bodes well for the future of big nights in the city. They

have already confirmed a strong line-up of well established nights. Detonate will be hosting events there, as will Notts breaksters Spectrum and local funksters Manuva Manuva.

Baillie has also pulled off a coup by securing the only NME sponsored weekly club night. If the early signs are anything to go by, you can expect critically acclaimed bands playing on your doorstep every week from now on...

Opening night will see the much loved DJ Mr Scruff return to Nottingham. A former resident at The Bomb, his Keep It Unreal brand of bizarre beats never fails to keep the crowd happy.

LeftLion will let you know more about the venue as plans are unveiled...
