Sad Boys Club
Where: The Bodega
When: Thursday 11th May 2023, 7pm
How much: £11

London’s indie band Sad Boys Club are heading on tour to promote their debut album, and are hitting up The Bodega along the way. Frontman Joseph has been playing in bands since he was eleven-years-old and, with Sad Boys Club, has found a place to express his and his bandmates' creative desires. If their song title To Heal Without a Scar (Is a Waste of a Good Wound) is anything to go by, this lot seem like they have something enticing to offer.

Duck on Bike Book Launch with Bridie Squires
When: Saturday 13 May, 7pm
Where: The Carousel

A particularly exciting one for us, former LeftLion Editor Bridie Squires is launching her poetry book. Duck on Bike is full of anecdotes - from the surreal to the ridiculous - of life and writing over years. The evening also features a creative line-up including the book’s illustrator AJ, Ioney Smallhorne - who co-founded a spoken word poetry group, GOBS Collective with Bridie - and Alex Trasca on the decks. See you there!
