The beady-eyed amongst you will notice that Pieminister’s Long Row restaurant in Old Market Square has had a major makeover. A new concept for the independent family business, Long Row Social is an elevated version of their original Pieminister restaurant. The award-winning pies remain, but they now sit alongside breakfast and brunch dishes and an extensive drinks menu, as well as extended licensing hours.

Long Row Social 81

You’ll all be familiar with Pieminister by now. Well known quality pastry purveyors, they’ve been gracing mouths for two decades now, from pitching up at festivals to stocking the shelves of your favourite big name supermarket. It’s a little known fact that the business was actually born whilst owners Tristan Hogg and Jon Simon were studying right here in Notts, so we can also (sort of) claim it as one of our own local business success stories.

The inhouse designer at Pieminister (an art student mate since their Notts days) has reimagined the space, transforming it into somewhere playful and welcoming where people can meet morning, noon and night. Regardless of your preferences, Long Row Social has crafted an environment which caters to any of your needs around the clock, making it more than just a place to sit and stuff hearty delights into your pie-hole.

Long Row Social combines work, socialising, and gastronomic satisfaction into one approachable and flexible space. With us in the midst of the summer months, people are on the search for vibrant and breezy spaces to spend their day or evening and this is exactly that. During the day, the airy café provides the perfect space to hang out, collaborate, or get some work done. At night the space transforms into a bar and restaurant serving 2-4-1 cocktails and award-winning pies. Oh and did we mention there is a hidden pool table?

Pieminister prides themselves on being an ethical and sustainable business too, something we’re very happy to support. As a certified B Corporation they’re independently held to the highest social and environmental standards - as well as ethically sourcing their produce and looking after their staff, they’re committed to becoming a carbon neutral company by the end of this year and reducing their carbon emissions by 50% by 2025. To boot, they’ve also pledged to send zero waste to landfill across the whole of the business and ensure that all its packaging is 100% recyclable or reusable.

With a variety of meat-based, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available, delicious drinks, and a revived atmosphere, there’s something on the menu for everyone.
