Overheard

“She won't last. Her eyes are too close together”

Person 1: “You know when you get older. When you’re 25 or older? You’re not allowed to go out anymore”
Person 2: “What?”
Person 1: “Yeah. You’re not allowed on nights out. You’re already getting on a bit, you’re eighteen now”

“It seems unfair that something that bad for me should be so expensive”

“There was this MASSIVE poo on the floor! And someone had put a PENCIL in it!”

Person 1: “I’m totally at ease with myself”
Person 2: “Why?”

“He got me a single flower. A man's bouquet!”

“An Austrian Breakfast, what's in that?”

“I’ve recently been listening to psychedelic African rock from the seventies”

Person 1: “People are having a Christ-sis... I mean crisis”
Group of girls laughing: “It's a Christ-sis!”

“Up here for thinking, down there for dancing, the middle… the middle is just a bonus!”

“Is that mad though? Pot noodle is literally my boyfriend in real life”

“There's nothing I love more than a horse in a gilet”

“I'm not actually sure if I have ADHD or if I'm just finding an excuse for always getting stuff wrong”

“That's the problem with speaking, there's no grammar”

“Is peanut butter like Nutella for old people?”

We have a favour to ask

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
