Bury Tomorrow took to Rock City for a headline gig which transformed the entire venue into a momentous mosh pit…

WECAMEASROMANS F35

Kingdom Of Giants set the precedent with their opening set. They gave it their all, bringing their melodic Californian metalcore to a crowd which happily accepted and reciprocated their energy. I really enjoyed some of the riffs and breakdowns these guys had; they create the type of music you just can’t stand still to. The vocals more than complimented this, swinging between angelic harmonies and satanic screams; a truly impressive feat which made for an enjoyable experience overall.

Next up was We Came As Romans. The band received the generous love which can only be found in the pits of a metalcore gig. These guys gave a fierce performance, evoking an atmosphere which definitely resonated with me, giving the Rock City stage a sense of scale which transcends its size. There is no doubt: this band is seriously impressive. With non-stop energy, dirty breakdowns, and excellent crowd control, they really had it all. After this show, you could definitely consider me a fan.

Finally, Bury Tomorrow took to the stage with an entrance both powerful and atmospheric. It was an apt decision to open with The Seventh Sun, given its status as the titular track of their 2023 album. The lack of breathing room was a testament to their fans’ undying dedication; an admirable trait for a band of this scale. I would go as far as to compare Bury Tomorrow to one of my favourites - they are the Enter Shikari of metalcore (this is not a comparison to be taken lightly). Both bands display the same genuine passion towards their music, each supported by an equally loyal fanbase.

The roaring crowd was like sustenance for this band, making it a night to remember

I just wish I was more familiar with the lyrics, as I too would be screaming each track at the top of my lungs. The roaring crowd was like sustenance for this band, making it a night to remember. There is no doubt, Frontman Dan certainly knows how to command a crowd.
