Everything Everything, the Mancunian Art Rock Outfit, bless Rock City with their incredible talent and unrelenting stage presence…

Opening for the band were Nottingham locals, Divorce, who had an interesting blend of male and female vocals which beautifully blended to create an amazing harmony that compliments their indie/art rock sound. With lots of grooving from the band and plenty of belting, their songs were packed with impressive vocals. This band deserve every bit of recognition that they get.

On their musical journey, Divorce explored contrasting sounds with each song, while also maintaining a distinctly nostalgic sound which I could not help but love. If you haven’t heard of them, definitely check them out; I think they have something for everyone.

Next up were the headliners, Everything Everything. In all honesty, what can I say about this amazing band that hasn’t been said before? Jonathan’s voice is as immaculate as ever; casually swaying between modal and falsetto tones with such skill - it's just amazing to listen to. This, coupled with the band's amazing instrumentals, just makes for a diverse setlist which keeps you gripped.

The gig came to a head during the encore, as the band brought an epic finish in the form of No Reptiles. The track rises to a crescendo which is overwhelming in the best way possible. The performance of that song alone was a representation of the gig as a whole – rising and rising into a beautiful conclusion that cemented this band's artistic skill into the foundations of Rock City.

Everything, Everything performed at Rock City on 4th April 2024.
