This week in Nottingham! Get yourself down to a market selling only vegan produce, a vinyl record fair, some opera and a friendly coffee club

Binks Yard Record Fair

When: Monday 6 May, 10am
Where: The Island Quarter
How much: Free

Come join the hustle and bustle of Binks Yard as AA Records host their records fair. Bargains are expected throughout the day, with rare vinyl pieces scattered amongst the boxes. Local dealers and those from afar will be present and upon request records can be played through the expert sound system on offer. The festival will also be buying up old records so if you’re running out of space or just want some extra cash then please come down.

Coffee Club

When: Wednesday 8 May, 3pm
Where: Blend @ Contemporary
How much: Free

Coffee clubs are a great way to socialise, particularly if you like coffee. The Wolfpack Project holds groups and events for those aged 16-35 in Nottinghamshire. This is part of their Coffee Club series where they buy the drinks for those attending and just chat about what people want to share. The group aims at creating a safe space for those attending and tackle the idea of loneliness which can be prevalent amongst the younger demographic.

Sherwood Vegan Market

When: Saturday 11 May, 10am
Where: Sherwood United Reformed Church
How Much: Free

Sherwood’s vegan only market, held on the second Saturday of each month is coming back on the 11th of May. The market sells a large range of hot food, cakes, stalls selling craft goods and a plethora of other things. Stalls will line the main hall of the church and car park and explore the side of vegan cuisine that is usually written off.

Ladies Day

When: Saturday 11 May, 12pm
Where: Nottingham Racecourse
How much: £19

Expressing yourself and your style is the aim of the game at Ladies Day. The racecourse, near the centre of Nottingham. Will host a day to remember, with women coming out in droves, dressing their best to be in with a chance to win some prizes at the style awards. Being a racecourse means that racing will also be a part of the action on the day and the exclusive lawn party is sure to knock your socks off.

Mimm Studios 2000X

Link Garmz pop-up

When: Saturday 11 May, 12:30pm
Where: Mimm Studios
How Much: £5.99

Link Garmz is a pop-up event-built for creatives interested in streetwear. Aiming to make the streetwear community less intimidating and to give more opportunities to creatives in the space. Speakers for this event will include @lostboyeddz from @lostboyschannel, @lesgensclothing, @nakaashhu, @2001.lab, @_andrewtaylorray from @_maltby and more. As well as music and art provided by: @bignature.collective

Madama Butterfly

When: Sunday 12 May, 12 or 12:15pm
Where: Broadway, Broad Street
How Much: £20

Asmik Grigorian’s debut in the role of Cio-Cio-San comes this May. She stars in Puccini’s tragedy (Madama Butterfly) as the trusting geisha. The story, which premiered in 1904, Milan discusses the idea around cultural and sexual imperialism through the geisha and a visiting American naval officer. Based In Nagasaki, Japan, one of the country’s few port cities, the stage has made Butterfly ‘timeless’
