The Maze recently won a landslide victory as the favourite venue to play by Nottingham musicians in LEFTLION Magazine. Still going strong after 15 years, it has evolved into one of the most well-loved underground venues in the UK.

"Based in Nottingham United Kingdom these three rollicking troubadours are riding out of the rock/grunge desert, and getting ready to rush the stage with their less-is-more approach. Martin was the original drummer from alternative band ‘Cable’ while Lucy and Aly began playing together in grunge outfit ‘Strap on Sally’ In 2011 after an aborted start as a five piece and a hospital stint for Martin, They re-emerged as a stripped down, lean, mean 3 piece and The Madeline Rust was born. All three members of the band are involved in the song writing process, bringing ideas to the rehearsal room and as there aren’t any egos in the band everything seems to run smoothly. The Album was recorded in just 9 hours and mixed by Richard Solanini a good friend of the band. Get ready for roaring guitars, explosive drums and some seriously bitter sweet vocals."

"The LiMn guys set up and kicked off. Mesmerizing riffs, full of light and shade by guitarist Nick Ivanov are definitely a highlight. Nick and the guys build a song up from a quiet whisper, with pensive and dark sounding riffs, building up to a crescendo of explosion of bright almost tribal sounding instrumentalism. Being an instrumental 3 piece, you know the band has to be tight, their technique and ability is not covered by any growly vocals, so they need to be spot on and they are! Seamlessly merging one sinister sounding epic of a song into another, you will wonder when one song finished and the next one started! FLYING ROBOT PIMP

Flying Robot Pimp was formed out of the charred fiery mess of rubble and debris that was the result of the atom bomb style explosion of two seminal bands Allotment Dogs and the mighty mighty powerpop outifit Cho Cho San.

The remaining members of those two bands that were left standing after the fall out decided to band together into a tight knit fighting unit in order to survive in the Mad Max style Futuristic apocalypse style world they now found themselves inhabiting.

Their only means of defence against the angry hordes of baying music fans that surrounded them at every turn was to pick up their instruments and blast out power pop tunes. These seemed to placate the haters and they quickly rose to the top of the pile to become seen as demi gods in this hostile land, after the breaking down of all the major religions there was born a new religion, "Pimpular Robotism" and its followers were to be known as "Robotists".
