Golden Fleece Reopens

One of the most popular pubs on Mansfield Road reopened late on Monday 29th June after an intense week-long refurbishment. All of the alterations are subtle but much needed.

The major changes are on the bar and in the cellar. The pub now has a permanent selection of 9 real ales (5 of which are CAMRA LocAle [Within 30 miles of the pub]) and 8 draught keg craft beers from the likes of Camden Town Brewery, Beavertown Brewery, Meantime Brewing Co., Sierra Nevada, Founders and locally Totally Brewed, Black Iris and Navigation Brewery.

The pub has reopened without a menu but development is underway and the newly kitted out kitchen hopes to be up and running by the end of July. The concept will be American-inspired bar food such as burgers, hot dogs, ribs, chicken and Phat Doughnuts for after.

Licensee Aimee has joined Pub People - who own and operate both Bunkers Hill and The Lion at Basford in the city, as well as 50 other pubs and restaurants around the East Midlands and they're excited about putting the landmark pub back on the map.

Live music every Friday night will launch from Friday 17th July and will be organised by Armageddon Promotions who runs nights at Bunkers Hill, Red's True Barbecue and The Malt Shovel at Beeston.

The Big Fleecy Quiz will continue into its Xth year and will be hosted by non other than Al Needham himself every Wednesday at 9pm

Regular DJ's on a Saturday night, Brewery Tap Takeovers as well as one-off Movie Quizzes will make up the rest of the diary of entertainment.
