This year Goose Fair has a fringe festival of arts and theatre

The Nottingham Fringe Festival launches next week bars and pubs around Mansfield Road. This is a week long festival of live music and theatre  showcasing a selection of local talent, backed up by some bigger names from the UK and beyond.

Organiser Guy Jones said of the festival "We got the big acts in to try and encourage people to come and see them alongside local performers. We've tried to give people the chance to appear on the same line-up as internationally recognised artists and we hope that this years fringe festival is just the start of things to come.

Headliners include Thea Gilmore, Adam Masterson, The Sadies and Bill Nelson and The Lost Satellites. They are ably supported by the rather more local likes of the Living Poets, Jezz Hall, Deep Sound Channel, Burning Man and the Hothouse Theatre Company.

These days Thea Gilmore is an internationally recognised recording artist. She made her name playing in intimate venues like The Maze and this is a rare chance to see her back in a place this size. After this appearance, which she promises will be 'stripped down and very accoustic', she is off to America as a supporting act on tour with 60's folk legend Joan Baez.

Adam Masterson is an upcoming singer songwriter who has been dubbed as the 'British Ryan Adams' (fear not, that's Ryan, not Bryan). LeftLion caught up with him last time he played in Nottingham. Check out our interview here.
