Lara Melda left one of the judges in tears on her way to winning BBC Young Musician of the year in 2010. Best to bring some tissues then as she performs a programme that's both expressive and dramatic, beginning with Beethoven's concentrated 17th Sonata. Two pieces by Debussy offer an impressionistic interlude before a trio of classic works by Chopin - two fiendishly tricky studies and his moving 1st Ballade - delivers an ending to die for.
