Public sector strikes

With most Notts schools closed shut down, Wednesday 30 November saw many city services grind to a halt as up to 2 million public sector workers went on strike nationwide over pension cuts.

Up to 10,000 took to the city streets to picket workplaces and attend a union organised rally which started at the Forest Recreation ground and wound it's way into the Albert Hall. The mood on the streets was supportive for the most part but there was a strong police presence.
