Officer Galloup recounts his past life, leading troops in Djibouti on the coast of East Africa. The aggressive and carnal atmosphere is contained by Galloup’s sadistic eye as regimented bodies contort and thrust, maintaining shape and strength for a battle that never seems to arrive. 

 

When a certain soldier catches his eye, Galloup begins to tussle with the extremities of envy and lust. The unsettled regiment is mirrored by Galloup’s internal world plunging into disarray. Are love and hate so far apart?
