“Founded in 1939 by Alfred Lion, Blue Note Records is loved, respected, and revered as one of the most important record labels in the history of music. Blue Note Records are designed to serve the uncompromising expressions of hot jazz or swing. Direct and honest hot jazz is a way of feeling, a musical and social manifestation”

Clifford Brown and Hank Mobley were two of the most influential jazz musicians of the 1950s. Brown‘s virtuosic trumpet playing and melodic improvisations helped define the sound of bebop and hard bop, and his influence can be heard in the work of countless jazz musicians who followed in his footsteps. Mobley, a tenor saxophonist known for his lyrical and bluesy style, was a prolific composer and band leader who played on some of the most iconic jazz albums of the era. Together, Brown and Mobley helped shape the sound of modern jazz and left an indelible mark on the genre that continues to be felt today.
