After Hours: April Fredrick and Sinfonia Viva

Appearing direct from the earlier concert in the auditorium, April Fredrick and Jean-Selim Abdelmoula join musicians from Sinfonia Viva for an After Hours performance of French cabaret songs, including classic numbers from Erik Satie, Francis Poulenc and Charles Trenet.

Described as a soprano with a passion for nuance and text, the American-born soprano April Fredrick has a deep love for the intricacies of text and the aesthetic world of each language she sings in and the way it shapes the songs set to it. Swiss pianist Jean-Selim made his Nottingham Sunday Piano Series debut in February 2020 and in Andras Schiff’s words “is not only a fine pianist with great sensitivity and imagination, but also a major talent in composition”.
