In the days before iTunes and Spotify, Nottingham boomed with dozens of record shops. The biggest of these was Selectadisc, which...
"With a reputation that spread across the Atlantic, the customers were far more colourful than the ones in your local branch of Gregg’s"
"The last few years at Selectadisc were awful, staff morale was crap...it was clear we had had it."
"We’re over-stocked, really. But if someone brings stuff in, you’ve got to buy it"
It was announced yesterday that after over 40 years of trading in Nottingham, the legendary music shop Selectadisc is going to close at the end of March. There is only one word to describe this: Tragic.
