A Critical Approach to Writing Poetry with Panya Banjoko

23rd February – 16th March, 2019 - Saturdays 1pm – 3pm
This course is designed for writers wishing to write critically. Participants will analyse contemporary poetry and use the knowledge gained to create a checklist of editing features to improve their own work. Open to writers with some experience and writers interested in learning how to edit work with a specific emphasis on poetry. Participants will also be encouraged to give and receive feedback from their peers.
Suitable for writers with some experience.
About the Tutor:
Panya Banjoko is a UK based Writer and Poet whose work has been published in various anthologies. She performs widely, coordinates Nottingham Black Archive, and is Patron for Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature. Whilst poetry is her mainstay she has also written two early years publications. She has edited a collection of poetry by the Black Writers Network and her debut poetry collection, Some Things, is available through Burning Eye Books.
