Building the Future Machine

At Nottingham Contemporary

You are invited to join us in developing a Future Machine – an interactive artwork that records the past, makes predictions, and informs decisions as the future comes, in response to environmental change.

In this workshop, join a team of engineers, programmers, artists and researchers from the University of Nottingham, and climate scientists in a participatory conversation to inform the artwork.

Future Machine is created by Rachel Jacobs in collaboration with artists Frank Abbott, Wallace Heim, Juliet Robson, Caroline Locke and Matt Watkins and in partnership with Furtherfield Gallery, Mixed Reality Lab, Horizon Digital Economy Research and the Mental Health Institute (University of Nottingham), and senior scientists at the British Antarctic Survey.
