Open to anyone that is interested, fearful or wants to be more informed about the climate and ecological crisis that the planet is facing. The information will be delivered as a talk with time for questions at the end.
7pm on Wednesday 15th January on Mansfield Road at the YMCA international community centre. NG1 3FN
Free Entry. Refreshments available.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of and tell the truth about the current environmental crisis. Give you facts they can share with neighbours, friends and family. Then to consider what we can DO about this.
Climate change is often in the news. But just how bad are things really? And what can we do about it?
The planet is in ecological crisis. We are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced.
Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.
Members of Extinction Rebellion Nottingham will share the latest climate science on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current psychology around climate change, and offer solutions through the study of social movements.
All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend, but due to the content of the talk, parental discretion is advised if bringing along young children.
Entry is free (donations welcome to cover cost of venue hire) and you can just turn up on the night, but to give us an idea of numbers, please register you interest on the eventbrite ticket link.
***Please note this event is independently-funded and organised for Nottinghamshire citizens, with speakers from Extinction Rebellion (a climate activism movement and pressure group). Contact [email protected]nottingham.org if you would like further info or clarification.***
