Outsider art is the third exhibition in the Jerwood Collection's year-long residency at The Harley Gallery.
This exhibition will show Outsider Art made by UK artists, offering a fascinating insight into the genre’s impact on the story of modern British Art.
The exhibition is curated in partnership with Outside In, an organisation that provides a platform for artists who face barriers due to health, disability or social circumstance.
It will include artists that connect with the genre in different ways; those who identify as Outsider artists, like Alan Davie; those who faced barriers, including Edward Burra and Peter Howson; work by self-taught artists such as Alfred Wallis; and those influenced by the genre, such as Rose Wylie.
