Green Is A Colour Of Life.
During October 12 artists from Nottingham City Artists studio group will transform St Mary’s Church into an oasis of green.
Inspired by our collective desire to be in green spaces during Covid lockdowns and beyond, the multidisciplinary show presents our reactions to lockdown and isolation. This is played out through varying tones of green, ranging from lime and leaf, tea and pea, through to olive and the darkest ivy. Visitors can delight in the full spectrum of green tones and even enjoy a dash of fluorescent neon paint.
Thematically uniting through a single colour allows pieces of art, video and crafted objects to coexist within a spiritual and architecturally intriguing context. This inclusive forward thinking approach encompasses painters, sculptors, illustrators, light artists, film makers and craftspeople each members of the NCA studio group. To witness a contemporary greening of place, be sure to visit St Mary’s Church during the exhibition.
