Broadway welcome artist and Near Now Fellow Joe McAlister to showcase a selection of past and new work, where interactive experiences seamlessly blend technology with fine art.
A computational artist and privacy advocate, Joes work often focuses on themes encompassing metadata, user interaction, data security, and psychology; he approaches these subjects using programming, machine learning, sculpture, projection and performance.
Two People on the Road will feature
· Interactive installations exploring the spread of misinformation and the data you choose to put online.
· Generative artwork made by bots.
· An expressive engine that uses machine learning to create poetry about images taken from open webcam streams around the world.
· A.I. experiments and playful prototypes.
Taking place throughout Broadway’s Gallery, foyer and Cafébar spaces.
