The Maze 10th Birthday

5 May 07 words: Maze
Mansfield Road's premiere live music venue is celebrating it's tenth birthday with ten pumping nights of live music

Where would the Nottingham music scene be without the Maze? Their ethos of supporting local musicians combined with getting in the best upcoming talent from the rest of the UK has injected diversity into the citys sound and given us many nights to remember. This May the venue celebrates it's tenth anniversary by putting on a night for every year they've been in existence. LeftLion takes a look at some of the treats in store which include a free all day jam to finish off the celebrations in style..

Friday 4 May
10 O’Clock Horses (right) - The people your mother warned you about, return to the Maze, playing a mix of funky folk, rootsy punk, crazy ska and everything in between….be prepared to drink and dance!
The Heels - Think dub bass, think epic horns, latino guitar, skanking keys and rock steady drumming. Think musical tourettes. Think The Heels. Birmingham’s most loveable ska band, skankin it up big time!
Dividend Opinions – Folk punk with a trippy edge, including ex members of The UK Subs. Divided Opinions mix fighting violins with huge guitar licks and vocals that can rant one minute and yearn the next.
Fulibulbus - Fulibulbus is the mutant offspring of the Fulibulbusaurus, a monster that cannot be killed by conventional ice ages. Mixing drum n bass and dub beats with hip hop vocals and ska horns, makes this band truly unique. Plus DJ Dub’ L’ Zero
