Send in your photos for a chance to win a shiny new LOMO camera

Lomo fisheye camera

We get set all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff in the mail bags here at LeftLion, including recently some cool kit from masters of retro cameras LOMO. They've sent us a shiny new Lomo fisheye camera and a big book of fun fisheye photography. So, it's competition time, if you fancy winning them then read on.

Lomo Fisheye - Rumble In the Pond book

In the spirit of LOMO and their philosophy of lighthearted photos in unusual situations we're running an abstract photo competition. The winner bags the shiny new LOMO fisheye camera and book pictured. A cool step into the world of Lomography, you'll be lion pawing creative types and fellow photographers in minutes. We'll also feature the winning photo in the new year edition of the magazine.

The competition theme is abstract which you can interpret any way you see fit, as long as the photo was taken in Nottinghamshire or has a Nottingham connection of some sort.

You can enter in two ways, tag your pictures on Flickr if you are a Flickr goer, or you can email them in to us.

If submitting on Flickr simply tag your pics LeftLion loves abstract with any notes about the image in the notes box.

If sending by email please send your pictures to photography (at) including the word abstract in the subject line of your message. Remember to tell us your name and include a caption plus some basic details : who, what, where and when, though don't be shy if there is an interesting story to tell. Please also include the name and the title of the image in the filename, for example daveangel_redecowarrior.jpg Files should be sent as JPEGs. They shouldn't be larger than 1Mb and ideally no larger than 800 pixels across.

You can submit up to eight photos, the winner will be announced on Saturday December 12.

Terms and conditions. The copyright remains with you. The pictures will only be used by the LeftLion for the purposes of this competition. Photos must be taken by you and not infringe any copyright laws.

We have a favour to ask…

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
