Amazement Festival 2013

Amazement is the latest music festival to spring up in the city, and in their own words, “celebrates Nottingham’s great culture and vibrant up-and-coming music scene”.

Over the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September 2013 at Nottingham Racecourse you’ll find over 70 acts spread across 3 stages (Main, Kerblammo and D.I.Y) ranging in musical style from acoustic to rock, ska to fun and pop to hip hop.

Remember mid-90s Scouse indie-popsters Space? You know, the ones who sang Female of the Species. Neighbourhood, Avenging Angels? Well, they’re the headliners, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find a treasure trove of Notts musical talent for you to feast upon.

Amongst the big hitters are The Establishment, The Afterdark Movement, Ferocious Dog, The Money and Great British Weather. But nestled in amongst them you’ll also stumble across the talents of Origin One, I Am Lono, Inkrument, Cecille Grey, Long Dead Signal and Sam Jones plus many more.

The festival is using only Nottingham businesses and 100% of the profits from the ticket sales will be shared between three local charities – Framework, NG7 Food Bank and The Lee Bonsall Memorial Fund – which makes them good ‘uns in our book.

If you step away from the music you will find a comedy stage curated by Funhouse Comedy, weird and wonderful walk-about artists, a fun fair and various food and drink stalls.

The team behind the festival has ran the renowned Maze music venue and the Nottingham Waterfront Festival as well as several other venues in the city for nearly a decade.

Amazement 2013 takes place at Nottingham Racecourse, Colwick on Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September 2013. Tickets cost £15 for the Saturday, £10 for the Sunday and £20 for the weekend. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

You can find the full line up of acts on the Amazement Festival website
