Allo Darlin'
This half Australian/half Kentish band released their third album We Come From The Same Place in 2014. There's a bit of Camera Obscura about them with a beautiful fragility that occasionally threatens to collapse in on itself but manages not to.
The Hayman Kupa Band
Named for members Darren Hayman (indie survivor from late '90s/early '00s band Hefner) and Emma Kupa, they have a bit of the Courtney Barnett sound about them, although with male and female vocals.
Wolf Girl
A four-piece from London who are more on the garage rock edge of the indie scene. They remind me a bit of the all too quickly forgotten and underrated Betty & The Werewolves.
Joanna Gruesome
For those who thought that Ryan Adams was a Bryan Adams tribute act, this Welsh band aren't a Joanna Newsom tribute band. Their second album Peanut Butter came out last year. They inhabit a strange Venn diagram where Veronica Falls meets riot grrrl.
Milky Wimpshake
Formed in the early nineties up in Newcastle, they find themselves in one of the few places in the UK where you can still get a Wimpy milkshake. They run the gamut from deeply political songs to love songs, all delivered in a slightly twee way.
