Sofar Sounds will host Nottingham’s very own Jake Bugg for an intimate set at Notts County ground Meadow Lane on 20 September as part of Amnesty International and Sofar Sounds’ Give a Home campaign. The award-winning Clifton musician has recently announced plans to release his fourth studio album, Hearts That Strain, the follow-up to 2016’s UK hit record On My One, as well as an extensive UK acoustic tour.
Jake joins the likes of Ed Sheeran, Frank Turner, Jessie Ware, Jack Garratt and many more across the world who will take part in the largest global festival ever held.
Fans who want to be in with a chance of seeing Jake Bugg, as well as other talented local artists, live at Meadow Lane next month have until 10 September to apply for tickets through https://www.sofarsounds.com/giveahome. From the site, people will be able to select their city and the event of their choice, to be in with a chance of winning two tickets. They will also have the option of making a donation.
The funds raised by the project will support Amnesty International’s work in documenting human rights abuses and violations against refugees and urging governments to find a sustainable solution to the refugee crisis.

Give a Home comes as the global refugee population exceeds 22 million – the worst refugee
crisis since the Second World War – with people forced to flee conflict and persecution
across the world.
However, despite the numbers, the international community’s response has for the most
part been completely inadequate. With a few notable exceptions, governments have
demonstrated what Amnesty has termed a “shocking failure of leadership”, building walls
and fences and introducing policies to keep refugees out, rather than working to share
responsibility for hosting and assisting refugees, and to address the root causes of the crisis.
