Shoe and Tell: A Celebration of Teenage Identity

They say you can tell a lot abaht a person from their shoes. This exhibition takes a look at the kicks that Nottingham’s youth are sporting these days, and what their shoes say might about their personal identity. It also takes a look at what it really means to be a teenager today and invites you to add your own teenage shoe story to the Shoe and Tell tree . Can such an everyday object explain something so complex? Maybe so...

Lego Club

No longer do you have to play with yer legos all by yoursen on your living room floor. Make to Make Nottingham are giving us Lego Club, a place for kids, mams and dads to build to their hearts content. They’ll be down at Rough Trade on every other Saturday until Summer 2018 and The Street Food guys next door will be satisfying any mid-build hunger pangs. Go on, let that inner kiddy out again.

Synthetic Pro Audio

Sneinton Market’s very own beat bangers will finally be opening their doors this weekend and we can’t bleddy wait. The DJ shop is having a launch party and they’ve lined up a list of local DJs and producers to get things popping off. Expect to see the likes of  Hot Toddy from Crazy P, Inland Knights and Da Sunlounge. There’s even a rumour they’ll be giving away a Novation launchpad as part of their celebrations…

One Off Art Sale

Back by popular demand for its fourth year. This first come first served art sale sees us lot fighting over works from both talented local and international artists to hang on our living room walls. This year, the folks have teamed up with their next door neighbours, Bentinck Studios, and you can expect to find everything from clothing, canvases, pottery, glasswork, illustration and music. All the art your hearts could desire.

Cathartic Artists

Poet and you didn’t know it? Chris McLoughlin and Midnight Shelley are running a free workshop to help you lot explore the power of words and performance within poetry, and to help yer find your rhythm. Open to all folk eighteen and above, just bring yoursen and a writing material of your choice and you’re all set. Afterwards, you can grab some Caribbean vegan nosh from Yemoja Foods who will be there with a lovely spread. Book that space pronto.
