Nottingham Poetry Festival: Meet the Poets

What: A chance for you to meet, ask questions and share your ideas with some of the talented poets taking part in the city-wide festival. There’ll be different poets each night and a little something for everyone.
How come?: Talking to other creatives might inspire you, and it’s a nice way to get to know people from around the city. You’ll also hear some poems from the lovely folk at Big White Shed.

Derren Brown: Underground
When: Tuesday 24 - Saturday 28 April
Where: Theatre Royal
What: The master of mind-control is gonna astonish you all with his psychological illusions. Framed around six great secrets which Brown sets out to explain, yer mind will be boggled.
How come?: This show brings together a collection of Derren’s favourite tricks, so there’s no better time to see the bogger.

UX Notts Workshop No.1: Techniques for Building an Empathy Habit
When: Wednesday 25 April, 6.15pm - 9.00pm
Where: Accelerate Places, NG1 5FW
What: UX Notts workshops are free, bi-monthly sessions where you lot can get together and learn new thinking tools and techniques. The first session is about empathy, and how it can help you better understand your customers.
How come?: Sharing is caring, kids. And also, we’re never too old to stop learning, especially when these skills could further your career.

Walking and Talking Tour: Instagram
When: Wednesday 25 April, 9.30am - 12.30pm
Where: Blend Coffee Shop
What: Instagram expert Mark Saxby from Status Social and professional photographer Mark Averill will teach you how to take great photos for insta. You’ll go for a walk rahnd snapping pictures and learning how to maximise your chances of success when posting ‘em.
How come?: Creative and digital entrepreneurs and SME’s, this one's for you. The workshop is part of an ERDF funded initiative and you will need to be enrolled in The Big House Programme to attend, but that’s easy enough to do. Get yoursens tech savvy.

Women Got Talent Fundraiser
When: Thursday 26 April, 7pm
Where: The Maze
What: An evening of live music, stand up comedy, animation and spoken word by women in aid of women. A mixed crowd is definitely welcome and certainly encouraged.
How come: It’s a fundraiser for Nottingham Women’s Centre; a space that supports women and helps them gain the confidence and skills to achieve their potential and become more independent.
How much?: £6.50
