Psst Poetry and Open Mic

What: Psst… Poetry and Open Mic returns. This event’s summertime special will be welcoming you to share your talents with the rest of your Nottingham pals. There’ll be wonderful faces joining to share their talents with the crowd featuring Cynthia Rodriguez, Joshua Judson, Denise Dee, Amina Bhatti and Bradley Rice. If you fancy some political poetry or want to engage your muse, head over to JamCafé to listen, join in, and get your creative juices flowing. A variety of food and drink will be available to satisfy your night, from booze to coffee-beans to keep up with your vibe.

Monday Solo Jazz Roots and Charleston Dance Class
When: Monday, 13 August, 8pm-9.30pm
Where: St. Christopher’s Church Hall
What: Weekly Monday solo jazz and Charleston class (excluding bank holidays) is accessible to everyone. Inviting all levels to join in for a warm up, practice and cool down. This evening’s dance will help plant your inner theatre and ballroom jazz roots. Join in for a pleasant dance class that brings moves from the 20th century. Get jazzy with your weekly exercise by joining us every Monday night. Complimentary refreshments will be provided to keep you cool.

Afternoon Tea Week

When: Monday 13 – Sunday 19 August
What: There’s nowt more British than a spot of afternoon tea. An entire week has been dedicated to the art of Afternoon Tea complimenting tea lovers to carry on the tradition. Head down to The Embankment for some posh nosh, including a range of sandwiches and scones with fresh cream and jam. You can even add a naughty bottle of Prosecco for an extra £2 if you’re feelin’ festive. Our pinky fingers are twitchin’.

What: If you’re feeling brainy and boozy, go to Nottingham’s free entry pub quiz. With the sun shining brightly this summer, enjoy a pint in the newly renovated outdoor garden. Summer Holiday Fun – Solargraph Making Workshop
Where: Green’s Windmill, Sneinton
When: Saturday, 18 August, 11am-2pm
What: If you want to do something new and creative this weekend, then head over to Sneinton and get summery while making your own magical image-recording device made out of recycled materials. Take advantage of the sun shining in Notts; this DIY camera can photograph the sun moving across the sky. No experience is necessary, all materials will be provided, so go along with your friends and family and capture the moment together.
