This weekend saw the return of Nottingham Roller Derby's Louisey Rider Cup, an event that celebrates the life of fallen skater Louise Wright and raises money for the road safety charity Brake. The culmination of months of planning and hours of hard work; skaters, officials, fans and volunteers come together from all over the UK and beyond to participate in the biggest and brightest tournament in the roller derby calendar. We sent our Fabrice Gagos along to pap the action.

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
