Make and Create

Where? National Justice Museum
What? Are the littluns still doing your head in and cannot wait to send them back to school? Not to worry because the kids can get their creative juices flowing ahead of the school return in the Make and Create workshop at the National Justice Museum. Kids can drop into the ‘creative space’ and create something to add to the growing museum collection. Led by a range of artists, makers and writers, the kids are sure to have the creative bug by the end of the session.

Summer Storytelling

When? Saturday 24th August, 10:30am
Where? D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum
What? Let the kids enter a world of pirates, gold and treasure in Summer Storytelling at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum. Snacks and drinks are provided for every child, and there will also be an opportunity for them to make their own hats and maps. After listening to pirate-themed adventures, you will be able to go round the museum and complete the children’s trail. The tales will be told by professional storyteller Nicky Rafferty, so you know the kids will leave spellbound.

What? Fancy looking at a range of rural contemporary art? Exploring a collection of artwork that takes into account many of today’s environmental issues? Then look no further than Fieldwork at Haarlem Mill in Wirksworth is the perfect place to be inspired. Fieldwork looks at contemporary art across rural contexts and includes three performances and a symposium, inviting a whole load of guests along the way. Speakers will be discussing themes of rurality, contemporary art and the current environmental state our world currently finds itself in.
