But if you fancy bringin’ up your jewellery makin’ skills up a gear, this six week course will give you all the snazzy skills to make some proper pretty stuff. You’ll learn a variety of silver smithing skills, including saw piercing, texturising, stamping and more. But the choice is yours of what you make. Necklaces? Bracelets? Earrings? A whole world of sparkly options! Go wild! All the tools and equipment will be provided for you, as well as materials. Razzle dazzle, baby.

What? Forget that cathedral in Cheeseland that burned down - we’re all about preserving the history of our wonderful St Barnabas Cathedral right here in Notts. Visit the Creative and Virtual Technologies Lab at Trent for a talk on the new discoveries of Pugin’s original designs on the cathedral, where you’ll also be shown what they can tell us today about the architect’s work. There will also be the chance to participate in a map of sacred landmarks in Nottingham, where you can exchange local knowledge on them with other folk.

Cursed Britain: A History of Witchcraft and Black Magic in Modern Times

What? It may be September, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get spooky before the ol’ Weenie day comes about next month. Historian Thomas Waters has written a book about witchcraft in our country, and will be doing a talk about it. The history of this ain’t usually spoken about, but Thomas promises an exciting, interactive evening exploring the different styles and types of magic. If you’re into casting the odd spell yourself, he’ll also have some top tips on how to weave historical methods into your abracadabras. It all sounds delightfully bewitching.
