In response to the recent lockdown announcement, The Nottingham International Film Festival will be held online between Friday 13 and Sunday 15 November.

Now in its fifth year, NOTTIFF will showcase over 30 different productions from across the globe, offering a range of feature films, documentaries and short films.

This includes UK premieres for three celebrated full-length narrative features: Israeli title Snowland, Canadian film The Marina and German movie Zu Den Sternen.

NOTTIFF will also present the world premiere of UK documentary A Space in Time, which tells the powerful story of a family who, after their two sons are diagnosed with a progressive muscle-wasting disease, create a magical home for their children to enjoy.

As well its feature-length showings, the festival will host three 'short sessions' across the weekend. These will shine a spotlight on some of the most interesting and inventive short films that the screen industry has to offer, including The Last Chord, which dives into the issue of unhealthy parenthood, and The Fruit Fix, which focuses on a piano player's battle against anxiety in the build-up to a big audition.

While NOTTIFF has previously been held at iconic Nottingham venues including the Contemporary and Savoy Cinema, the festival's Director of Operations, Neil Jeram-Croft, believes film fans will still have plenty to enjoy throughout the event.

"We may have moved online but we still have an incredible line-up, and the festival is the only place you will get to see these independent films," he says.

Tickets to NOTTIFF 2020 are now available.
