The charity have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic, and this appeal explains why the work they do is so vital to Nottingham’s homeless population…

As Britain enters the deepest recession since economic records began, Framework Housing Association are aware that this could result in uncertain futures for thousands of people in the UK, with many facing the threat of losing their jobs and potentially, their homes.

Framework continued to help Nottingham’s homeless community and people rough sleeping throughout the pandemic – unfortunately, pressing pause on their vital work is not an option, especially when those they help need access to services 24-hours a day. However, like with so many industries, Framework saw their income decrease, but with rough sleeping already on the rise, the demand for their services has never been higher.

The Homeless to Home appeal aims to end homelessness by tackling rough sleeping. It’s focus is on Framework’s role in supporting those on their journey from ‘homeless to home,’ and at the route of it all, changing and saving lives. Their work is based around three principals: prevention, support and resettlement.

Prevention is the most effective method they have for tackling homelessness – Framework’s community-based services support those who, for all kinds of reasons, may be at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping, and provide a wide range of supported accommodation services to ensure this does not happen. Their dedicated team work to gain the trust of those rough sleeping, and support them in addressing the problems that ultimately led them to becoming homeless. Their staff then work to secure tenancies, and teach the skills needed to maintain homes and live stable, independent lives.

With winter fast approaching, Framework are expecting a surge in demand for their services, and so their expenditure will rise even higher. By donating to their Homeless to Home appeal, your money will enable them to help people in the greatest need. You can also take the Homeless to Home Challenge during November, where the charity will be encouraging you to walk, run, cycle or swim to help end homelessness in Nottingham.
