Nottingham Castle Announces Date for Reopening

The tourist attraction is set to lower its drawbridge and welcome people back to the castle this summer...

Nottingham Castle, one of the city's most iconic tourist attractions, has announced that it will be reopening to the public this summer. Having undergone extensive redevelopment work, the castle has announced that it will be 'lowering the drawbridge' on Monday 21 June 2021*, offering people a chance to take a look at their brand new, state-of-the-art experiences.

Inside the revamped castle, you can expect to see:

  • Hood's Hideout - A brand-new adventure playground for families to enjoy
  • Robin Hood Adventures - An immersive, state-of-the-art mixed reality experience, giving visitors the chance to step into the epic retelling of Nottingham’s notorious outlaw.
  • The Rebellion Gallery - a fascinating exploration into the city’s riotous past
  • Unique Creative Galleries showcasing Nottingham's proud and long history as makers and creators
  • A breath-taking Temporary Exhibition Gallery, which will host world-class, touring exhibitions
  • The newly-refurbished Terrace Café with stunning panoramic views across the city
  • A newly built Visitor Centre, which is home to a Coffee Shop and Castle Gift Shop
