What do you get if you mix a member of Blondie, the drummer from The Wallflowers and the lead from one of the biggest TV shows in history? Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum...

If you haven’t heard of them already, you might be wondering who are Princess goes to the Butterfly Museum. The band is made up of Matthew Katz-Bohen who is also the keyboardist for Blondie. Peter Yanowitz who was the original drummer of The Wallflowers and Michael C. Hall who you might know from the legendary tv show Dexter on vocals.

The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Katz-Bohen founded the band in 2018 and this is the first UK tour for the band since their debut album Thanks For Coming dropped in February 2021, having met several years ago on Broadway during the production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The snowy weather did not stop fans from flocking to Rescue Rooms Sunday night. With Beija Flo warming the fans up with her outstanding vocals as support artist. She made the fans laugh while she interacted with them and after an amazing set by Beija, Katz-Bohen took to the stage making the fans go wild as he began to play the keyboard harmoniously. Followed shortly after by Peter Yanowitz on drums and last but not least Michael who took his spot by the microphone.

His vocals sound very similar to David Bowie and that might be why he was picked by David Bowie himself to play in the Broadway show Lazarus in New York. Their electronic rock music is charmingly beautiful , where each song has its own identity. Listening to it live just makes it that little bit more special, as their performance grips fans.

Armageddon Suite stands out with charismatic sounds, the music warms the soul even on such a wintery evening that was on Sunday night. While Cruel World rocks the fans with the stunning sounds from the drums and captivating vocals from Michael. Nevertheless is one the fans favourites being one of the bands singles from this year.

If you haven’t seen the band live yet it is highly recommended.
