Nottingham based charity SFiCE Foundation have launched a new Crowdfunder campaign to ease the burden of food poverty and reduce food waste, with free projects that help vulnerable communities in Nottingham…
SFiCE is a Nottingham-based charity supporting vulnerable adults in the area. They do this via community development, to help reduce the effects of food poverty, isolation and ill health within the city of Nottingham.
They have launched their new Crowdfunder campaign to raise money to help ease the burden of food poverty, as well as reduce food waste. The Crowdfunder is also benefiting from matched funding, with every £1 donated (up to £250 per donation with a maximum of £10k overall) being matched by National Emergencies Trust.
With a target of £5,000, and a stretch target of £10,000, SFiCE will use the funds raised to support their work with vulnerable adults in Nottingham with their core projects: Homeless Outreach, Social Cafe, Support Line, Cooking on a Budget and ESOL classes. Additionally, funds will be allocated to purchase equipment, like a washing machine to offer a clothes washing facility for people experiencing homelessness.

Charity director Parminder Dhanjal said, “We are delighted to launch this Crowdfunder and hope the match funding will result in a successful campaign for the charity. Money will be used to directly support vulnerable adults that rely on our services; to make those services better and allow them to reach more people. With Winter around the corner and the potential for an increased COVID risk, our projects are more important than ever.”
Rewards for donations include a personal thank you on social media and the charity newsletter. For donations of £250, which are worth £500 to the charity, there will be an entry into a prize draw for a private online cookery class for a staff team/group, with Parminder, SFiCE Foundation's Director.
